Frequently Asked Questions
If you have any questions not seen on this page, please call any of our location and we’ll be more than happy to assist you.
You can find a list of our clinics on the contact us page here on our website.
I have a dental emergency. Who do I contact?
Call our office where you are a patient and we’re happy to assist you. We have offices in Hot Springs, Malvern and Gurdon. Visit our contact page for more information. If we are out of the office, you will be given a number to reach your Doctor. If your Doctor is unavailable for whatever reason, one of our other qualified Doctors in our practice will help you.
Do you accept referrals?
Yes. We gladly welcome referrals. A referral from you is the greatest compliment we can ever receive. Your confidence in our practice is of utmost importance to us. Be assured, we will treat your referrals as if they were a member of our own family.
Will you accept my insurance?
Yes. We accept traditional and PPO insurance benefits. With traditional insurance, you can seek treatment from any dentist you choose. We are also a preferred provider for the following PPO’S: Delta Dental of Arkansas and Blue Cross Blue Shield. If you are enrolled in a different PPO, our office would be considered an out-of-network provider. In that case, some restrictions will be placed on payment amounts from your PPO. However, if you feel strongly about choosing your own dentist, you still have the right to select our office for dental care.
In all cases our knowledgeable office staff will help you understand your benefits, efficiently file your benefit claims, and attempt to maximize the benefits you receive.
What steps do you take to protect my health and safety?
We use state-of-the-art sterilization procedures. We also follow the Center for Disease Control’s recommendations for monitoring all sterilization equipment. In addition, our clinical staff wear protective eyewear, gloves, and masks. Patients are provided safety glasses during treatment.
My gums bleed when I brush. Should I be concerned?
How often should I brush and clean between my teeth?
Brushing after each meal is preferred. If that is not realistic, then brush at least twice per day as follows: Once after breakfast and once before retiring for the night.
You should clean between your teeth after each meal. You can use several means to remove food debri and bacteria. “Plackers” are a good way to floss and also dislodge debri using the pointed plastic tip. Floss is great, but it is technique sensitive and many people may not be able to reach all of their back teeth. There are many devices on the market today. Using one consistently is the key.
I want whiter teeth. What can I do?
Every mouth is different. We need to examine your teeth to determine what is best for you. If your teeth are chipped, cracked, broken, have large silver fillings or are badly discolored, we may recommend a very natural looking restoration, such as tooth colored onlays, crowns, or veneers.
For tooth whitening we offer several whitening agents. To find which process best suits your needs, call any of our locations for a cosmetic consultation.
My time is valuable. Can we minimize the number of appointments?
What if I need to cancel my appointment?
In this hectic life, we realize there will always be times when unavoidable or sudden changes occur in your schedule. As a responsible person, please give us two work days notice so we can attempt to place another patient at your allotted time. The longer the time scheduled for you, the more time it takes for us to fill it. We reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee if you cannot give us 48 hours notice.
I am nervous about dental visits. How can you help me relax?
Our staff will not rush you thru any procedures or discussions. All treatment rooms have large windows that face a relaxing garden and woodland setting. If you wish, we do offer nitrous oxide as a relaxant. Sometimes called laughing gas, it has a soothing effect on most patients.
